Ready to help us empower communities to end social isolation?

On the surface, it might look like we serve Central Texas communities through home improvement projects and meal deliveries. The truth is, that’s a relatively small part of what we do. There's actually so much more!

Our top priority is empowering communities to eliminate chronic social isolation by creating connections—among neighbors, church partners, caring volunteers, and other local nonprofits. We encourage you to visit each page of this website to learn more, especially the Volunteer sections. Or contact us at [email protected] for any questions you might have!

Social isolation is now recognized as a nationwide problem.

We invite you to read the PIH News Release on the U.S. Surgeon General's Report on Social Isolation.

You can also read this article summarizing the report that was released on May 2, 2023 by the U.S. Surgeon General, titled "Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation." Much of what is in the report Partners in Hope has witnessed firsthand for years; our goal has always been to create a culture of connection. "There's really no substitute for in-person interaction," says Dr. Vivek Murthy. You can read his full report on our Find Resources page.

Want to understand better how to walk with others?

Consider taking one of our Relational Ministry Trainings, designed to equip volunteers with specific tools needed to journey with our neighbors who need connection. Check out the above link to learn more about attending or hosting a training!

Our Story

Unexpected Connections is about the epidemic of social isolation, the redemptive power of relationships, and God’s perfect timing. In this book, Author Matt Peacock details how the Lord led him and his missions-focused team on a fascinating journey to address this growing problem in central Texas. But there was a big twist. No one could have predicted the actual destination.

We are excited to announce that Unexpected Connections recently received two awards! It was recognized as a SILVER WINNER in the Nonfiction Book Awards sponsored by the Nonfiction Authors Association. This competition honors books that are “well-written and beautifully produced."

It was also honored with a BRONZE MEDAL in the 2021 Illumination Book Awards. With the motto, “Shining a Light on Exemplary Christian Books,” the Illumination Book Awards are designed to honor the year’s best new titles written and published with a Christian worldview.
